Julie McDermott is the founder and maker behind Shadow & Line, a Liverpool-based contemporary jewellery studio inspired by urban architecture, shadows and reflections.

With a background in Fine Art and photography, Julie translates the shapes, textures and patterns she encounters in the built environment into clean, understated jewellery. She works predominantly in recycled sterling silver, creating geometric forms, tactile textures and pieces designed for everyday wear.

Shadow & Line launched in 2020 and has grown from Julie’s home workshop into a collection of contemporary jewellery spanning rings, earrings, pendants, wristwear and unisex pieces. She also creates bespoke commissions, allowing customers to develop individual designs with her.
