Clare Mahoney is a ceramic artist whose work explores the textures, patterns and rhythms of the natural world through porcelain. Working predominantly by hand, she combines hand-building and press-moulding with printmaking, botanical impressions and casting to create tactile objects and sculptural forms.Inspired by hedgerows, coastlines, plants and found natural forms, Clare translates delicate botanical structures into porcelain. Her work ranges from small tactile pieces and vessels to larger sculptural and wall-mounted compositions, with natural impressions becoming an integral part of the ceramic rather than simply surface decoration.Clare studied at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a first-class BA in Art & Design, and subsequently completed an MA in Ceramics. She has exhibited widely in the UK, with her work held in private collections and shown through galleries and exhibitions.
